Tour Colleges on the Internet with Unigo and YOUniversitytv

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Seen any next season previews for your favorite TV shows?  You can preview colleges too!  Before packing your  bags and setting foot on campus, spend some time touring colleges on-line and hearing the opinions of current students.

It’s a great way to narrow down your college list.  And, getting a real flavor for a school before going there, can make campus visits much more productive.

Two favorites are YOUniversitytv and Unigo.  YOUniversitytv.com offers video tours of more than 400 colleges.   Unigo.com, featuring about 250 colleges, was favorably reviewed by WSJ’s Walt Mossberg who called Unigo  “a college-information resource built for the age of YouTube and Facebook.”

Unigo and YOUniversitytv provide both flavor and information in a single site. Users can see and listen to current students who provide valuable perspectives & campus tours infrequently portrayed in other guides. This can be extremely helpful to students and parents who wish to explore beneath the surface to feel the pulse and spirit of colleges and universities they are considering.

Both sites cost nothing to use and are supported with advertising revenue.
