Early decision and early action applications for the Class of 2015 surged at Vanderbilt, George Washington, University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern, Bucknell, Bowdoin, Lehigh and Dartmouth according to Jacques Steinberg’s post in The Choice, a New York Times educational blog.
Early decision applications to Vanderbilt were up by more than 30 percent and those to George Washington increased nearly 20 percent. Northwestern reported a 26% increase and Penn was up 18%. Dartmouth ED applications increased nearly 14 percent.
The Choice has compiled a data table ( http://thechoice.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/11/18/ed/) containing early admissions stats for 2011. The table includes interesting data for many colleges and universities that offer early decision and early action programs.
