Kiplinger has published its 2011 list of best value public colleges. While I usually look at college rankings with a certain degree of skepticism, I consider this list interesting.
When considering the full cost of college, keep in mind that tuition (a key component of the Kiplinger ranking) is only one component. Don’t overlook four-year graduation rates.
Paying for five or six years of college at a “best value school”, may have a higher price tag than four years at a more expensive school.
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill received the top spot on the 2011 list.
