Stanford Admits 755 Early Action to Class of 2016

Admission decisions were mailed Friday, Dec. 9, 2011.  Stanford’s Office of Undergraduate Admission sent acceptance letters to 755 applicants seeking admission to the Class of 2016 through its early action admission program.

Admitted students were selected from approximately 5,880 applications which corresponds with an acceptance rate of around 13 percent. Last year, 5,929 students applied EA to Stanford.

Admission decisions were sent to all applicants — admitted, denied or deferred to the regular decision pool.

Students accepted to Stanford through the early action program have until May 1, 2012 to decide whether or not to attend.

More than 28,000 students are expected to apply to Standford for regular admission.
